Húsun Brass Sextant

Bought in a chandlery in Porto by a great-uncle who never sailed further than the Douro, this sextant spent forty years on a shelf being admired and roughly four afternoons being used.

The index mirror was re-silvered in 2019 and the micrometer drum still turns with that particular oiled reluctance that tells you nothing inside has been forced. It arrives in its fitted mahogany case with the original certificate of examination folded into the lid.
